Seawater cooling in Cavalaire-sur-Mer

In 2012 a special project has been realized by Thermaflex in Cavalaire-sur-Mer. Seawater is transported through Flexalen tubes to the post office building in the city. In summer the seawater is used for cooling and in winter to benefit from some degrees of temperature that the water can provide. read more

Otternhagen livestock farm invests in a biogas plant

In the Lower Saxon village Otternhagen a new biogas plant provides the local cattle farm and thirteen adjoining houses with heat from biogas production. The transport of heat goes via a 2.5 km long system of pre-insulated Flexalen pipes. read more

For the building of the shops and the eating facilities in the middle tunnel of Amsterdam Central Station a new pipe system of about 1 km length is required. A firm job in a complex working area full with infrastructural and monumental limitations. De Groot Installatiegroep is responsible for all the mechanical engineering. Pipe systems of Thermaflex stimulate the use of rest heat. The Warmtenetwerk Foundation has granted the Innovation Award 2012 to Thermaflex. The use of rest heat is getting more and more important to save energy and to reduce the CO2 emissions. Flexalen is the linking pipe (pin) between other innovations and it has proved itself in practice. Former barracks provide accommodation for around 2,000 seasonal workers

While many other municipalities and cities are having problems finding new uses for the sites of former barracks, in Kloster Lehnin in the German federal state of Brandenburg a remarkable project has taken place and was completed in April 2012: the Beelitz asparagus farm has had the former National People’s Army barracks converted into comfortable accommodation for around 2,000 seasonal workers who will work on the asparagus harvest. read more
