Biogas supplies heating and cooling

The Hessian heritage convent Haydau has recently been converted into an international conference complex with modern hotel facilities. The power source is almost completely undertaken by the biogas plant situated nearby, which delivers not only electricity and heating but also provides cooling water for the hotel’s air conditioning. The heating and cooling water is transported by a roughly two kilometer long Flexalen pre-insulated plastic pipe system. read more

A firm job in a complex working area full with infrastructural and monumental limitations. De Groot Installatiegroep is responsible for all the mechanical engineering. One village, one heating plant, one local heating network

A virtually self-sufficient regenerative energy supply was what the residents of Stellshagen wanted for their village. With this in mind, they set up the “HWS Holzwärme Stellshagen eG” cooperative. This was the start of a truly remarkable project. By now, 14 homes and an outbuilding of the “Gutshaus Stellshagen” hotel are supplied with heating energy and hot water from a central wood-chip heating system. More than a kilometre of pre-insulated, flexible pipes were laid for the local heating system, to ensure energy-efficient heat transfer. read more

Residential estate equipped with energy-efficient district heating system

The Fuldablick Property Owners’ Association in Kassel took on a formidable project. The underground steel pipe network on their 1970s-built residential estate with its 15 buildings and 105 apartments was in need of an overhaul due to the high heat losses occurring. Replacing the district heating and drinking water network with a system of flexible plastic pipes enabled them to reduce heat losses by as much as 26%. read more
